The Old Man and the Voluntary Organizations Day in Stroncone

This morning all the students of the school in Stroncone took part in some activities organized by the Voluntary Organizations of the area. They listened to explanations, played games, carried out involving activities and in this way they came to know what voluntary organizations do for all the people.

Together with the students of class II B there was a special guest, the Old Man with his FIAT 600, who, before leaving for his travel to Europe, took pics and went around the village with them.

Here is a photo album we hope you enjoy!

School is cool: etwinning project 15-16 in class III As

"School is cool" is the title of the etwinning project we are involved in this school year in class III As in Stroncone.

This is the certificate of our project that involves schools in France, Croatia and Poland.

The main aims of the project are:

- improving the communication skills of our pupils in English.

- improving their digital skills
- promoting active citizenship

The following pictures is an overview of the activities that students will carry out during the school year.

During the last few weeks 3rd year students accessed the twinspace (the online site of the project), created their profile using voki, sent messages to their partners, viewed the French students' videos and vokis, uploaded some photos of their schools.

In the following weeks we will finish the work we have already started about our school: the students will take pictures of the different classrooms, describe them in a video.

What do you usually do with your mobile phone?

This week we started studying topics connected to technology and we couldn't find a better theme to work on in the week of the 30th anniversary of the movie "Back to the future"!

Well Doc had imagined the future quite different from it is now but still something are instead similar!

I asked my 3rd year students what they usually do with their mobile and this is what they said

I'm really curious to know about their thoughts about school in 50 years but as this is was their homework I will have to wait!

Students of class II Bs in etwinning: first activities.

Students of class II Bs have started taking part in the eTwinning project "The Old Man with his FIAT 600 in Europe" introducing themselves using voki and padlet and writing their profiles in the twinspace (the platform of their project).

Then I created a map with all the schools and they enjoyed exploring it.

The Old Man with his FIAT 600 in Europe: II Bs etwinning project 15-16

"The Old Man with his FIAT 600 in Europe" is the title of the eTwinning project class II Bs is involved this year.

"The Old Man with his FIAT 600” is a character created by Italian teacher and writer Pigi Sbaraglia.

The adventures this character undertakes are funny mainly because he can’t see very well and he takes the wrong way to go where he would like to so that he ends up going and doing something different what he thought. The main idea of this project is to let the Old Man travel around Europe and have several adventures so that he will come to know different cultures, people and languages. Students of the partner schools will write short stories about him in English and create an ebook from the title “The Old Man with his FIAT 600 in Europe: stories and adventures"

We are going to carry out the activities of this project with students of other 4 European countries: France, Finland, Norway and Portugal.

Here is the certificate of our project and this means that it has been approved all the national agencies of the partner schools.

The main aims of the projects are:

- to work in teams,
- to share ideas and methods of work both among sts and teachers,
- to use ICT,
- to improve their technical skills to create videos and ebooks,
- to improve their artistic skills by taking photos or drawing pictures of their country,
- to create stories in English to be collected in an ebook,
- to improve their English (writing and speaking),
- to get to know other EU countries and cultures,
- to broaden their horizons through realize we are part of a bigger community: the UE,
- to make EU friends.

So students will create stories about "The Old Man" and will also talk about music, free time, school, sports and hobbies with teenagers of other countries.

Some, any, how much, how many

Last week students of classes IIAs and II Bs studied "some, any, how much, how many" and food.

here are some exercises to practice and to have fun too!
