Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare

Students of Guardea had two last special English lessons: they had the chance of listening to a sonnet written by William Shakespeare. After having listened to it I gave each student a line to draw,

then I collected all the drawings, took pictures of them and created a video.
In this way the students could understand the sonnet better and, imagining the meaning, they could also express their feelings.

Sonnet 18

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.

GRAZIE A VOI RAGAZZI

Ieri a Giove abbiamo presentato i lavori e i progetti svolti durante l'anno.

When most I wink, then do mine eyes best see,
For all the day they view things unrespected;
But when I sleep, in dreams they look on thee,
And darkly bright are bright in dark directed.
Then thou, whose shadow shadows doth make bright,
How would thy shadow's form form happy show
To the clear day with thy much clearer light,
When to unseeing eyes thy shade shines so!
How would, I say, mine eyes be blessed made
By looking on thee in the living day,
When in dead night thy fair imperfect shade
Through heavy sleep on sightless eyes doth stay!
All days are nights to see till I see thee,
And nights bright days when dreams do show thee me.

progetto lettura, progetto cittadinanza e costituzione, progetto educazione ambientale, progetti etwinning, progetto "Tell a tale" e altre attività.

Let's become tourist guides: some videos

Some weeks ago I asked my students to tell me and their friends their opinion on this etwinning project so in this video I recorded what they have said and we also shared it in TwinSpace so that the teachers and the students from the other countries can hear us!

Some days ago we also made a video showing Lugnano and its most important and beautiful places.
When we go on TwinSpace we can see videos form the other nations taking part in this project.
Here you  can see our video.

Some days ago our Finnish friends uploaded this video and watching it it almost as if we were there with them!
We liked it a lot and we share it here so that even our parents can see it.

This last video is about some of the activities we caried out within this project.

I really think the work we have been doing during this school year was important for my students and for me too because taking part in such a project allowed us to be more aware of the fact that we are  living in a bigger place that is to say the European Union, it was a wonderful chance to exchange ideas and experiences and a nice opportunity to let our students practicing English with their European peers!
I hope they will remember this experience and keep on being interested, curious and enthusiastic about communicating in English!

We really did a lot of things and the students were really very good!

So have a  loot at it and enjoy!

THANKS A LOT LAURENCE!

"The Elves and the Shoemaker" and "The Jungle Book"

Thursday 30th May 2013 students of class III A told two tales to the pupils of the primary school of Penna in Teverina (class III).
During the school year the secondary students read and studied the following tales: "The Elves and the Shoemaker" and "The Jungle Book". We found the scripts and I gave each student a character to study.
They prepared the scenes, the masks and rehearsed the tales in class as you can see in this video.

After all this work they finally dramatized the tales as you can see from these two videos!

YOU WERE ALL REALLY

Pics and facts from Europe: a video to tell parents about our project

Next Friday 7th June students of Class III A will show their parents all the works and the projects they have been carrying out this school year. Among the projects there is also an eTwinning project they liked doing and that allowed them to know more about other people's culture and life. They also had the chance to meet European teenagers and talk with them in English using the chat room in TwinSpace.
The students described their school, their villages through photos of the most important places and of the street names so that they could also talk about the history and culture of their coutreis.
The last activity we did was a video of Giove with the Itlaian mascot of the project as a tourist guide!

Doing this video wasn't easy because they had to learn the things to say in English and this was quite hard for them but ... they did it: WELL DONE STUDENTS!

The other activities of this project are all reported in the blogs in the eTwinning platform and here is a video that summarizes the most peculiar ones.
