Dawn in Lugnano III

This morning students of class III D in Lugnano welcomed Dawn, our American friend and teacher.
We talked about the advantages and disadvantages of living in a village and of living in a town.
So the students thought a little bit about it in groups first and then they took turns to say their opinions while Dawn and I wrote all their ideas on the IWB.

After having written all the opinions we then had a discussion and some students thought it was better to live in a village and some others in a city. Some of them also highlighted both the advantages of living in a village and those of living in a city.
The time went by so quickly we had to say goodbye to Dawn to early!
All the students tried to interact with her, some of the them a little bit more and some others were still a little shy. However all of them really did a good job making an effort to communicate their own thoughts in English.

Before the lesson ended we decided the topics to talk about next time and here they are:
- life in the USA;
- my best trip;
- if I could go everywhere in the world where would I go and why?

So. dear students, get ready for the next time!

Dawn with us in Lugnano II

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting Dawn in class 3 D in Lugnano for the second time and we all enjoyed her presence very much. She is very friendly, cheerful and help all of us, both students and teacher, to improve our English language skills and she also tells us about her culture.

Yesterday we talked about what the students would like to be when they grow up and why: their future jobs.
First the students worked in group and compared their ideas then they told Dawn who asked them some more questions to let them talk a bit more.

These are some of the jobs they would like to do:
doctor
office worker
accountant
chef
surveyor
hairdresser
beautician
tourist guide

Here is a mind map to review other jobs.

After that we had a debate on "going to school" and we discussed pros and cons. We will finish this discussion next Monday in class.

Next time with Dawn we will talk about these two topics:
- differences between living in a town or in village
- life in the USA.

Questions race 1: family, dates

This post is for students of classes III A, III D and III G.

Today we will start a new activity, a questions race!

I bet you wonder: "What is this strange thing, our teacher invented now?"
Well it is very easy:
- I will write a post like this with one or more  topics;
- you send all the questions you can think of about the topics as a comment to the post;
- the students who sent the more correct questions will get a prize!

There will be a winner for each class.

Hope you are ready to start!

The topics are: family, dates.

Here is an example of the questions you can ask:
1. Have you got brothers or sisters?
2. When were you born?
3. How old is your father?
........................

When you write the questions you can use all the tenses you know (present, past, future)
