Welcome to teacher Chiara's blog! Questo blog è principalmente rivolto ai miei alunni con l'obiettivo di stimolare in loro interesse e curiosità per la lingua inglese che ci permette di comunicare con tante persone di culture diverse dalla nostra.
"A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality" (John Lennon)
Today is the European Day of Languages and at school we celebrate it by starting displaying the postcards from all around Europe within the etwinning project. (More pics will come soon)
It is important to realize how many languages are spoken in Europe and it is important to learn some of them too. Why? To communicate with others of course, to know people from other countries and cultures better, to build strong relationships among people, to create the Union that the founding fathers hoped for, not to fight anymore.
So there are a lot of reasons to celebrate this day!
And remember: Learning another language can make things different!!!!
This year the students will write letters to students from Spain, France, Finland and Poland and they are eager to start these new projects.
Writing to a peer is a very involving experience for the students, it motivates them using English in a real context and, at the same time, it allows them to know people from several countries and be aware of the richness of languages and culture that are around us.
This school year we are involved in several etwinning projects.
The first one is "Let's send postcards to celebrate the European Day of Languages 2013".
The main objectives of the project are :
- allow pupils to discover more about Europe, culture, friendship and enjoy communicating; - learning how to write and send postcards; - read the postcards in class once they have been received; - create a poster with all the postcards. In this document you will find all the schools involved in the project that are more than 40!
We are now ready for a new school year.
This year will be full of interesting projects and activities and, in this way, all of you can learn more English and have the chance to practice the language to communicate with your teacher of English, with teachers from European schools and with new friends from all around Europe.
