Yesterday and today ways of communication ...

Class III D took part in the eTwinning project "Yesterday and today ways of communication" that gave all the students the chance of writing letters (using pen and paper) to French and Finnish teenagers. They had the opportunity of using the language to communicate with young people and know more about these two European countries. They experienced the joy of receiving a letter after having waited for a longer time than what they are used too with emails, text messages, facebook and so on.

So here I want to say

Here I share with you a video that shows our activities within this project

Letters from and to France and Finland

Students of class III D are still exchanging letters with French and Finnish friends.
The nice thing is that every time I send the letters the day after they ask me for the reply!
Writing letters is not like writing emails, it take a bit more time, more words, more effort but then the smiles and happiness on my students' faces tells that it is really worthy carry on with this project!

Enjoy this new video.

First letters from Finland

During the Christmas holidays I got the letters from Tyrnävä, a small place near Oulu in Finland

and this morning I could give them to the students of III D.

As soon as they got their letters I had to stop doing anything else and let them read what Finnish students told about themselves.

When I had their attention back I read the description of our new firends' school.

All the Italian students where very happy of getting the letters and of knowing about a different school system and started asking me a lot of questions I was hardly able to answer. So I think we'll ask our Finnish friends some more info on their school.

Now it is our turn again. Write a letter and remember to include:
- opening greetings;
- answers to the questions your friends asked you;
- a short description of Christmas traditions in our country;
- some nice events that happened during your Christmas holidays.

Yesterday and today ways of communication

This is the project III D has. It is an eTwinning project and its main aims are:
- to create contacts with European students to know them and the culture of their countries;
 - to improve the use of English as a Foreign Language;
- to create real chances to use English;
- to write letters (using pens and paper!) to discover the pleasure of talking about oneself, of knowing other people, of receiving letters;
 - to implement the use of ICT.

The European students involved in these project are from France and Finland.

Italian students have already written the letters to their Finnish friends

and are going to write their answers to their French friends whose letters arrived yesterday and I delivered today.

After having received the letters they immediately started reading them. They were happy to read what their French penfriends wrote.
