Let's celebrate EU 60!

French and Italian students celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome with a Skype sessions some days ago.

The students are involved in the etwinning project "Let's play EU 60" and they are working on the European Union since September 2016.

To celebrate this event we decided to meet, even if only virtually, and talk about school, free time and Europe during the English class. We couldn't talk for too long because both schools had also other classes.

Before the meeting students had the chance to think about the questions they would have asked in this shared doc.

Finally we met and even though we had some technical problems we solved them and we could talk and meet: it was a wonderful experience and a great way of celebrating EU 60!

We also voted for the best logo for our etwinning project during this week and we chose among the following:

And the winner is ...

Camille's logo!

Congratulations!

Let's play EU 60 games

Students from class II G of "L. Da Vinci - O. Nucula" school in Terni prepared a series of online games using the learning apps for their Spanish and French partners of the etwinning project called "Let's play EU 60".

First they read some info on the history of the European Union in class,

then they carried out a webquest to answer to some questions using their personal devices (which was possible due to BYOD guidelines)

and, after having found a lot of info they thought of some games and created them using the Learning Apps http://learningapps.org/

During this activity the students involved got to know the history of the European Union better, improved their English, used their creativity and had fun both creating the games and playing them.

Here is a thinglink with all the games created so far.

Discovering the places where we live.

Within the etwinning project "Let's play EU 60" students of class II G of the school "L. Da Vinci . O. Nucula in Terni and their European friends from France and Spain have started discovering the places where they live.
To do so students from each partner school prepared questions for the other students to answer so that is not a presentation with ready made information but they have to search and get info themselves.
Italian students worked in teams and created questions on Terni and on Umbria which we collected in this video.

French and Spanish students will answer to the questions in the padlet below during the coming weeks.

Our school by II G

Students of class II G created a presentation on their school for their friends of the eTwinning project "Let's play EU 60".
They have been divided in teams and two of them worked on a video and audio presentation of their school.
First they decided what to describe, then they wrote some sentences on the place or on the project they choose and at last they recorded their descriptions using an iPad and the app called "Sparkadobe".

Here is the result: it's really a very nice job!

Other teams are working on the description of their town and region. Their work will come soon!

Let's play EU 60: an etwinning project on the European Union

This year is the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome with which the basis of the European Union were created. Class II G of the school "L. Da Vinci e O. Nucula" in Terni will celebrate this event through an etwinning project together with other two schools from France and Spain.

The main aims of this project are:

- to work in teams,
- to share ideas and methods of work both among sts and teachers,
- to improve their English (writing and speaking),
- to use ICT to improve their technical skills,
- to present their towns, their countries and some EU institutions using ICT tools and creating games: online games (using learning apps and appinventor, QR codes), boardgames, quizzes,
- to get to know other EU countries and cultures, to broaden their horizons through realizing we are part of a bigger community: the UE, to make EU friends

Here are the names of the teachers and the schools we will work with.
