In my free time I ...

What do you usually do in your free time?
What do you like doing in your free time?
What did you do yesterday afternoon in your free time?

These are the questions we used to review free time, simple present and simple past in class 3 E last week.

Here is the mind map we saw on the IWB at school. You can download and print it.

This is a set of flashcards on free time, you can listen to the words and play some games too by clicking on the button "chose a study mode" in the left hand side at the bottom of the set.

Enjoy!

Hero

This morning in class II G we listened to the song "Hero" and we had a fun activity while listening.

The activity:
1. students work in pairs
2. each pair has some words from the song

3. while they listen they pick up the words they hear

4. the one with more words is the winner

After the game we listened to the song again and the students had the handout so that they could sing it too.

Welcome back to school!

This week we started the lessons and to welcome the students I let them play a game called "Dates game" .

Under each number there is a word that is the answer to a question they have to create. The questions had to be asked to me, their teacher, and were all personal questions.
Procedure:
- the students were divided in teams,
- they were given 5-7 minutes to create the questions,
- they took turns to ask the question,
- if they got it right they scored a point,
- the team with more points is the winner.

At the end of the game I asked them to create their own "dates game" to play all together the following lesson.

Daily Routine 13-14

This week students of class I A started studying daily routines and to do that, among other activities, they drew pictures and comics.

We also had fun playing some of the games you can find in this set of flashcards I made some time ago with the help of other students.

To play the games just click on the link below

Some more exercises to review both the present simple and continuous.

A competition for you:
the who send me a correct sentence each verb will get a prize!
Remember that when you use a verb in the -ing form you are using the present continuous and you also need the verb to be!

Comparisons

Yesterday 2nd year students in the school of Lungnano practiced comparisons.
They were divided in groups and I gave them the category below: they had to brainstorm some words and then make comparisons between them.

They could use the following structures:

The cat is bigger than the dog.
Playing football is as interesting than playing basketball.

Animals
Countries
Sports
Free time activities

They were given 20 minutes to do this activity and when they finished each group read the sentences aloud. They got one point each grammatically correct sentence and one point for creativity that means they didn't have to write similar sentences.

Group 2
Group 3
