A surprise party!

This morning in class III D students organized a surprise party for Dawn our American friend.
We gave her a nice present and a wonderful Thank you card.

After that the students told Dawn a special thing they did or that happened to them last week

and finally we ate a cake made by Francesco's mother and a pie with nutella by Danilo:

delicious!

Then Dawn met students of class I-II A who asked her a lot of questions without giving her time to breath! It was really nice and they were all eager to ask questions and speak to her.

THANK YOU DAWN
FOR THIS GREAT EXPERIENCE.
WE WAIT FOR YOU NEXT YEAR!

Alastair and Helen in Giove IV

This morning in the school of Giove, students of class III A had their English lesson with Alastair and Helen and they could review useful words and expressions for the Trinity GESE 3-4 and for the end of year exams. We talked about school trips and other journeys, we listened to them telling us their experiences and their Easter traditions.

Before the end of the lesson we celebrated Easter with a big chocolate egg and the students gave Alastair and Helen a present to tell them thank you for all they did for us and our school. They gave two plaques representing Giove and Penna in Teverina, a card and a bunch of flowers Lucrezia and Nicoleta made.

Alastair and Helen will probably come again before the end of the year to talk with us and we will really very happy of it.
Meanwhile I'm glad of all the work they did with the students and I want to thank them again for their precious cooperation. I'd also like to thank the parents, the teachers and the caretakers of the school who helped and supported this activity.

Dawn in Lugnano VI

Today in Lugnano we talked about best and worst experiences.
In fact 3rd year students were eager to tell Dawn, our American mother tongue teacher and friend, some of their experiences.

They took turns to speak and all of them did really well. They had to use simple past tense and tried not to repeat always the same verbs! So this meeting was a nice chance to talk to an American friend and to practice past tenses as well. We also learnt new words, expressions and rules.

All the students were really interested in listening to each other and in telling their own stories.
Here is hat we talked about.

After the lesson we thanked Dawn and we wished her Happy Easter and we had a big surprise because she promised to come again in May and we really have no words to express our happiness!

Alastair and Helen in Giove III

Last Tuesday Alastair and Helen came to Giove again and we had a wonderful lesson.
In fact we talked about Giove and Penna in Teverina.
First of all Alastair and Helen reviewed some vocabulary about tourism and going places,

then Catalina and Riccardo answered to all the questions their schoolmates asked as if they were working a a tourist office and the students were tourists.

All the students had previously prepared a leaflet with tourist information both about Penna in Teverina and Giove and they really did a good job.

While they were doing this activity Alastair went around the desks and checked the leaflet.

Not only we enjoyed a lot but we also learnt something new about the places  we live and work.
Once again we want to thank our special guests and teachers for having been with us and for having given us the chance to learn something we didn't know.
