This is a beautiful painting called Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh
and this morning the students listened to a song on this topic and they got a handout with some questions about the painting and the song. Here are the questions on "Starry Night", the painting:
- What time of
the day is it?
- Where is the
scene set?
- What place
is this?
- Is this a
big city, a town or a village?
- How can you
say that?
- What are the
dominant colours in the painting?
- Do you like
this painting? Why?
- What do you
think of while looking at it?
The song we listened to is "Vincent" by Don McLean written in 1971 and it is about the artist and his paintings.
We also had a look at another painting by the same painter that is called "Café Terrace at Night"
Here are some questions too:
- What time of
the day is it?
- Where is the
scene set?
- What place
is this?
- Is this a
big city, a town or a village?
- How can you
say that?
- How many
people are there?
- What are the
people wearing?
- What are the
dominant colours in the painting?
- Do you like
this painting? Why?
- What do you
think of while looking at it?
