Welcome to teacher Chiara's blog! Questo blog è principalmente rivolto ai miei alunni con l'obiettivo di stimolare in loro interesse e curiosità per la lingua inglese che ci permette di comunicare con tante persone di culture diverse dalla nostra.
This school year students of I. C. "B. Brin" - Terni have been involved in several eTwinning projects that allow them to practice and improve English, to develop their digital and social skills including teamwork.
In the thinglink below you can see some of the works they carried out.
The Old Man has come back to Italy in his FIAT 600 after having travelled to France, Norway, Finland and Portugal and he also took back with him a lot of souvenirs and a new friend from Finland.
Here you can see some pics of the Old Man at school in Stroncone.
He also went to visit the writer Pigi Sbaraglia in the school where he works.
Here is also his virtual suitcase created using prezi.
And as a last activities students and teachers from all partner schools wrote their goodbye posts in the padlet below, there is also a message written by the writer himself.
Here are the last two activities of the etwinning project "ESTV".
The first video is a presentation on France created collaboratively in fact each partner school asked and answered two questions and all the questions together made this presentation possible.
The video below is the "goodbye" activity: the students of each partner school recored a part of the song "Happy" and then all the videos were put together to create only one video.
Some weeks ago students of class II As "I. C. B. Brin" - Stroncone/TR worked on plants of their country and created videos and other presentations to show them to their European peers of the etwinning project "ESTV".
They worked on these activity both at school and at home, in groups and individually using the tools they preferred such as powtoon, power point, word, videos.
Students of class I As (I. C. B. Brin - Stroncone -TR) took part in the etwinning project "Children toys: yesterday, today, tomorrow.
Among other activities they invented stories in which toys talk to each other in English. They use structures and vocabulary students learnt at school this year and when the dialogues are a bit more sophisticated is because the kids used online dictionaries to discover new words.
Last 14th May students of class II Bs of the school "B. Brin" (Stroncone - TR) had the chance to have a lecture and a workshop with Pigi Sbaraglia writer of "Le avventure del Vecchietto con la 600".
These activities were part of the etwinning project "The Old Man with his FIAT 600 in Europe" that saw the class involved all the school year together with students for Norway, France, Finland and Portugal.
First of all the writer talked about writing a comic story and explained the children all the most important aspects they should include in a tale.
Then students were split in groups and started preparing a mindmap for a story.
When they finished they interviewed the writer asking questions they thought of and also questions European students had sent.
Here are two videos with all the questions and answers.
Part 1
Part 2
After the interview the students read their stories to the writer and he chose the best two: "San Vecchietto" and "The Old Man in Space".
At the end of the meeting we gave Pigi Sbaraglia a present: the book with all the Old Man stories and a pen to write more stories!
Some weeks ago students from Italy, France, Norway, Finland and Portugal finished to create their stories for the etwinning project "The Old Man with his FIAT 600 in Europe" that we collected in an ebook created using "calameo".
Students worked in groups and individually and created stories, drew pictures and also invented comprehension activities that they carried out together at school after having read the stories.
