Kiss you

This week the students of class II A listened to the song "Kiss you" by One Direction within the eTwinning project "A song a month".
After listening to it I gave them a line of the song each to draw. So they started drawing at school and finish their works at home.
When they gave me their papers back I took pictures and and created this video.
I'm sure that they will remember more then I could hope of this song and, for sure, they will remember at least the words and the meaning of the lines they drew!

I had this idea from the blog "The machine goes on" so I wish to say a big THANK YOU to my colleague Daniela Tomatis who is a source of inspiration for me and my students!

eTwinning poster

Last Friday the students of class I - II of Guardea created the poster to celebrate the eTwinning Spring Canpaing. I had already created a glogster with all their drawings but they also wanted a poster to hang in their classroom to remember the etwinning experience they had this year.
So both groups of students collaborated in thinking and realizing it.

Trinity GESE 3 and 4 passed!

CONGRATULATIONS DEAR STUDENTS!

WE ARE REALLY PROUD OF YOU!

eTwinning: spring campaign in class!

Wednesday 15th May, in the morning, two girls of class II A came to class I A and explained to all the students what they did in their eTwinning projects.
Students of class I A too took part in an eTwinning project but they didn't use TwinSpace and Catalina and Sara explained them what it is like using it.

So first of all they told about the first project that was "Happy European Day of Languages 2012" to celebrate the European Day of Languages September 26th (more info on it can be found in this blog under the label "Happy EDL 2012").

After that they went on talking about their project "A Song a month"  that is involving the whole class all the year round and it is still going on (more info on it can be found in this blog under the label "A song a month").

For both project we used TwinSpace and we had the chance to be in contact with the other students and teachers who we are working with. In TwinSpace we can do a lot of thinks that we organized in a prezi.

We also had chat sessions with our new friends and this is one of the activities all the students liked best!

At the end of their presentation I asked them to say what they thing about these projects and eTwinning and ... I really had a great surprise!

We are eTwinning on the news!

Yes, it's true! We are on the newspaper with all our eTwinning projects.
The article is in the local page of the newspaper "Corriere dell'Umbria" dated 12th May 2013.
As this is the week of the eTwinning Spring Campaing we are really very happy of  having this article on our projects and in the following day we will speak about all of them both to the students and to the teachers of the school.

Starry night

Students of class III A are working on the topic of "Evening - Night" from different point of views. So they are gathering info in Italian Literature, English Literature and Culture, Music, Art and so on.

This is a beautiful painting called Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh

and this morning the students listened to a song on this topic and they got a handout with some questions about the painting and the song. Here are the questions on "Starry Night", the painting:

  1. What time of the day is it?
  2. Where is the scene set?
  3. What place is this?
  4. Is this a big city, a town or a village?
  5. How can you say that?
  6. What are the dominant colours in the painting?
  7. Do you like this painting? Why?
  8. What do you think of while looking at it?

The song we listened to is "Vincent" by Don McLean written in 1971 and it is about the artist and his paintings.

We also had a look at another painting by the same painter that is called "Café Terrace at Night"

Here are some questions too:

  1. What time of the day is it?
  2. Where is the scene set?
  3. What place is this?
  4. Is this a big city, a town or a village?
  5. How can you say that?
  6. How many people are there?
  7. What are the people wearing?
  8. What are the dominant colours in the painting?
  9. Do you like this painting? Why?
  10. What do you think of while looking at it?

Comparisons

Yesterday 2nd year students in the school of Lungnano practiced comparisons.
They were divided in groups and I gave them the category below: they had to brainstorm some words and then make comparisons between them.

They could use the following structures:

The cat is bigger than the dog.
Playing football is as interesting than playing basketball.

Animals
Countries
Sports
Free time activities

They were given 20 minutes to do this activity and when they finished each group read the sentences aloud. They got one point each grammatically correct sentence and one point for creativity that means they didn't have to write similar sentences.

Group 1
Group 2
Group 3
Group 4
