Christmas songs

Listen and try to sing these nice Christmas songs.

Jingle bells.

Santa Claus is coming to town.

Up on the housetop.

And here is my favourite: Rudolph the red nosed reindeer.

Celebrating Christmas at school

All the students at school gathered together to celebrate the end of the lessons.
Some of them brought a "Pandoro" (one of the typical Christmas cake in Italy), some others water, fruit juices, napkins and plastic glasses. I made two cakes with Nutella and we enjoyed a lot.

After having eaten and drunk we sang Jingle Bells and We wish you a Merry Christmas.

Playing with prepositions

As Christmas is approaching students today were really lively. We played a game in English both in class II A and in class III A and III B.

The students took a sheet of paper, folded it in four then cut it. After that they took only three pieces of paper and wrote IN, ON, AT on them.

I showed some sentences with a missing preposition

and they had to decide which was the right preposition and put their paper up and each right sentence the group got a point. The group with more points won the game.

When they finished the game we corrected and explained the mistakes, we reviewed prepositions having fun!

Comenius Project 2011-2012

A group of 12 students from our school, together with 3 teachers and the headmistress, had a wonderful experience in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) from December 11th to December 20th. We had the chance of living wonderful moments with our Spanish friends thanks to the  Comenius Project "Once upon a time there was a beautiful castle" that we have already started last year.

Among the aims of the projects I'd like to underline the following:
- encourage the learning of foreign languages and European cultures;
- enhance the quality and European dimension of teacher training.

Students realized how important speaking another language apart from their own is and we, the teachers, had the opportunity to share our teaching methods and ideas, we could stay 10 days all together and compare our way of living and at the same time we also agreed with what St. Jeanne of Lestonnac, the founder of the school we had the exchange with, said: "Educate in life and for life"

Here you can watch a video where a Spanish girl makes a welcome speech in Italian: what a surprise for us!

More details will come during the Christmas Holiday.

Here you find some hints to describe your best friend.

Describing our school

The students of class II A worked in small groups to describe their school as a part of the etwinning project "Schools get together with History".
First they took pictures of the rooms that are in the school then they described them saying what can be found in each room and what we do there.

They prepared a file at home and then one of the students collected all the files together and created a power point.
